Pitch Details

CHOOSING A PITCH

Shallow Grange have been most helpful in setting up extra Electric Hook-ups (EHUs) on pitches that would not normally have them. As a result, we have a few additional restrictions to ensure site safety and smooth-running.

Please read the following before booking to ensure you are booking the right pitch for you. If you are not sure, please e-mail This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. and we will work with you to make sure you end up with the best possible pitch.

Site Maps

A detailed map of the MARS, SATURN and NEPTUNE Fields with an reasonably up-to-date allocation list is available here: Pitch Plan

Motor Home Pitches

MARS Field 1 - 3, 18 and 19: These are grass pitches with tough rubber webbing underneath. They are the only pitches on the campsite that are suitable for motor homes and larger camper vans. All five pitches have at least 8A EHU feeds. The maximum size vans these pitches can accommodate is around 3,500kg MTPLM and around 8m in length (this is not precise - if your van is a little over this size, please e-mail This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. with details before booking to see if we can accommodate you).

Small Camper Van Pitches

NEPTUNE 13 - 19: These are grass pitches just off a gravel track and are suitable for small camper vans such as VW Campers or Ford Transit conversions. These pitches will be allocated on arrival so we can fill them from pitch 19 to 13 in order so please arrive together if you are in a group.

Caravan Pitches

MARS 4 to 17: These are normal grass pitches and are suitable for all caravans, where cars are parked in the nearby car park field. These pitches all have 8A EHU feeds.

Tent Pitches

SATURN 1 - 31; NEPTUNE 1 - 12 and 20 - 99: These are standard grass pitches and are suitable for tents only. Each pitch is roughly 7m x 10m and can accommodate one large tent or two small ones.

Pitches with Electric Hookup (EHU)

All pitches marked on the pitch plan as "8A" or "16A" have electric hookup. These are:

  • all Motor Home Pitches
  • all Caravan Pitches
  • Tent Pitches SATURN 1, 2 and 24 - 31
  • Tent Pitches NEPTUNE 1 - 8
